The Exhibition

The BDA Hamburg Prize for Architecture 2012
Years of Construction 2010 to 2012

The faces of cities are changing in the course of time. New buildings arise and existing buildings get redesigned.

This exhibition presents outstanding new and redesigned buildings of high architectural quality in Greater Hamburg chosen by experts – a jury consisting of three renowned architects (Prof. Wolfgang Lorch, Elke Delugan-Meissl, Prof. Volker Staab), one journalist (Dr. Gisela Schütte) and Hamburg’s chief officer for urban development (Prof. Jörn Walter) – and also chosen by the interested lay public (readers of the German newspapers “Die WELT“ and “WELT am SONNTAG“).

On display are 35 buildings of four different prize rankings of the BDA Hamburg Prize for Architecture 2012 and of the Audience Prize for Architecture. The exhibition provides a unique cross-section of the construction activities in Greater Hamburg during the years 2010 to 2012.
